Heidi, I got thinking about the old oak you lost in the storm. Is there an area saw mill that can take it, cut it into boards, etc. Boards can be stored & dried, then used for furniture, cabinets, floors, etc. Also, a local wood turning club might be thrilled to get some wood for projects - bowls, vases, decorative objects, pens, etc. It's a shame that the tree came down. It would be a shame for all that wood just to get ground up.

A funeral pyre would be a fitting use for the old tree, I think!

Heidi, that was such a wonderful thought you wrote on Schultz's puzzle yesterday! I wish more people would take these older dogs - yes, they are called "heartbreakers" because you can't have them so very long, but, as you say, their is great emotional value in having them and loving them. Hi Heidi! Haven't been here much lately, but I just wanted to thank you for the birthday greetings - they were much appreciated! (the animal song is so cute!) Rob was away till late, so my day was very quiet, but we all went out on the weekend, had a lovely dinner (no dishes!) and lots of pressies, so my birthday was well celebrated! Thanks for your kind thoughts. :D
