Hi Debby, I wanted to pass on my sighting of a bird. I had posted that I saw a blue bird with black on the wings during a hike a week or two ago, Watching TV, I saw an ad for bird seed and dang, if my bird wasn't flying in the ad -- indigo bunting, I believe it was called - it is exciting to see the birds - I have a woodpecker that visits on occasional -- just overcast today, but nice in a cool way, able to ride my bike to my pool class today. My crab apple tree should be in bloom next week if not sooner -- take care and have a good night. mary

Thanks for the birthday wishes, this is a big one for me (50)so I have already told my family that I will be celebrating for the whole month, or at least until my daughter's birthday which is on 5/28, I can hardly believe that I have been on this Earth for 50 years, I plan on making the next 50 (or so) very memorable for all those around me!

If she has entered it as 08/05 it will show up as the 8th of May, as we do our date day/month the opposite way to you, and Gath has probably got it programmed Aussie style.

Hi Debbie! Thanks for stopping by. How many children do you have? I know of Jeremiah, but now you are talking of of both daughters and two of your sons? As I read it the implication is that you have at least 5. I am expecting #4 and any advice on brood raising would be most welcome!

OK, Debby ... your wish is my command! The first comment below was from Hugh ... and the second was my response months later when we tried the camp bananas!

Camp bananas

Take a banana or several

Cut away a section of the skin and keep

Remove 'some' of the... ah! meat I suppose you would call it! You can eat this bit now.

Stuff the cavity with your favorite chocolate - as much as you can fit in.

Replace the skin

Wrap in foil and place in the campfire embers for about five minutes. Long enough for the chocolate to melt a bit.

Remove and eat...mmmmmmmm! delicious.



Several variations of Camp Bananas were suggested, and it would be best to let an Aussie describe them, but this is the way we made them last summer in our campfire ... unpeel one section of a banana, scoop out a little fruit, insert some Hershey's and mini marshmallows, replace the peel, put the banana at the edge of the fire for a while, take out the banana and open it up, eat the warm gushy contents with a spoon ... to die for if you enjoy those particular ingredients!

For flavour, the Red Velvet cake was great and Tom loved it. I thought it was a bit heavy and wondered if i used the right flour. I'm making it again tomorrow for the family dinner and have bought cake flour.

I had a wonderful birthday on Monday visiting friends while coming home from the Indy 500 and finished up by celebrating last night with my two grandsons , sons & wives!

Hi Debby, guess I will finally get to meet you, I am coming to Florida in July. Guess the hummers will just have to starve while we are gone, fill the feeders and hope for the best.
We really needed this last rain but not sure if 5 more days of rain will be needed. The flowers sure have perked up, they enjoyed the rain. I just hate the storms that have winds & hail. Look forward to meeting you.

Welcome home sweetheart! Sorry to hear about your delays at the airport, but happy you made it home safely. It was a delight to hook up with you, even if it was brief. Can't wait until Jane's proposed Sudoku-cruise. If anyone could plan it, it would be her!

I had an easy drive home. The weather was perfect this time. Including my stop to pick up the collies, it took 12 1/2 hours only. A couple of times I thought I had missed an exit, but it turned out that it was much further down the road. Very little traffic, too.

I still am awestruck over this meeting. Flabbergast even. I really liked this group from talking to everybody in Sudokuland, but the reality was far better than anything I expected. My Sudoku friends ARE the greatest group of people I've ever met.

Debby - absolutely wonderful pictures! Thanks for getting them up so quickly. It looks like you all had such a great time. I sure don't want to miss the next one!
