I remember those days when I lived in Florida....when I was there this time, the weather was PERFECT...We had a nice day today, might get rain this evening. Heavy winds in the area, so windows are closed and ceiling fans are on.

Suzy, my boys had a lot of fun going to work with me today. First we had a special "faculty" meeting for our guests and parents. Served milk, juice and cookies. The kids then hung out with their parents. At 12:00, they had lunch of pizza. At 1:00 they went on a chaperoned scavenger hunt and got to meet a lot of the people who run the school: cafeteria manager, head custodian, bookkeeper etc. All the people who are necessary but the students don't see alot of. Mitchell (grade 6) was tutoring my students in grade 8. They were actually thanking him.

Brenda, I don't know if I should send you my congratulations or my sympathy. It is scary to have your kid start driving. I also passed on my first try. My family then made me run all the little errands. I do not want to think about the beasties driving.

Back from my day out, all went well. Mum was good except for a sore hip from having 2 falls in 2 days. Only bruised.
Just having a few minutes relaxation before the next onslaught - Son and DIL going to the movies late this afternoon so we've got the 3 girls for a few hours, incl dinner. Spag Bol will do nicely, I know they'll eat it.

Might not get here tomorrow - going to watch grandies in the Anzac march in the morning, then hubby and I have to have an afternoon nap because we have to go out at midnight to the airport to collect our friends and their new adopted son (11 months old) from Ethiopia. Their plane lands at 12.40am (after a 16 hour flight from Dubai), goodness know how long to get through customs, then a half hour trip home. I think there's going to be a lot of tired people on Sunday, including us.
But, I'm so excited to meet the little one.

Cyn, how exciting! If it's anything like when I went to the States they'll have first time immigration for the little one too. I don't know what hubby had to do when he landed here, or rather I forget. I'll have to ask him. I'm so happy for your friends!

Hello, Everyone! Another day has come and gone, and still no chance to read the comments. One of these days . . .

In the meantime, I must bid you all a fond farewell and good night! Fingers are crossed for tomorrow. If I have missed any celebrations of birth or wedding anniversary, I apologize. My best to all of you!

MizT, Heidi and Tami he isn't my first child to get their driving licence. Eldest daughter did it 7 years ago. Youngest daughter has her test in three weeks time, hoping she passes so that I can stop shelling out £210 every month for their lessons.
At the moment it is all new and exciting for Andrew and he is offering to do all the little run around jobs, including taking his dad to the station this morning. Normally he doesn't stir from his bed until later in the day.

Anyway I an not here, or maybe I should say I shouldn't be here. I still haven't started the packing and we go away in the morning.
We are going out as a family tonight to celebrate Andrew's passing his driving test (couldn't go last night as we had visitors over)
Might get back later, but if not I will still be able to stay in touch while I'm away as long as I can get a signal on my mobile phone.
Bye for now.

Have fun Brenda.
Time to fling food for hubby and I. We are having overs tonight. We had a light 'gail' for lunch and are not feeling too hungry but have some ravioli from last night which must be eaten.
Only the two of us here tonight, youngest has gone to a party and D#2 is up the other end of the house until she goes out later, so that doesn't really count!

I have a pot of coffee if anyone would care to join me.

Gail, I hope you and others have a fine day for your ANZAC parades and ceremonies. Then enjoy your long weekend, or does all of Oz have Monday as a work holiday? I think Rolanda mentioned they do.

WA has a public holiday on Monday for Anzac Day but we don't here. In future, when the 25th April falls on a Sunday, the Monday will be a holiday (I believe that is what our politicians have agreed on but think that is for Vic only maybe, not national).

Gone for real now, I have just printed out my sudokus and taking them off to bed with me now.

Happy Anzac Day! That doesn't seem right, but you know what I mean.

Beautiful day here and it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend as well. Trying to get things together for our trip tomorrow morning. Leaving at 5am will not be fun.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Suzanne, I heard the underwire bra story on the news. It may have been a group rather than a gang, but it was definitely Detroit.

Stella, I read the AP news story about the underwire, and they stated it happened when 3 men were robbing the house next door. the lady in the bullet proof bra looked out her window when the burglar alarm went off, and that is when the shot was fired.

I did not see Suzanne's post with anything about that story. Are all the posts not going through? Hope that is not the case, but I had had that feeling a few times lately, someone responded about something I had not read. Makes me wonder. CRAFTs is not that bad, is it?

I am back in the sewing room this morning, off and on. It is nice and cool, I have windows opened. Today I will close them earlier than I did yesterday. I kept thinking I could tough it out till dark and it would cool down, nope did not happen. Temp outside was 87, hottest of the year. Inside climbed to 90, and the only way I could tolerate that was the low low humidity and the nice breeze. When the breeze died, had to close up and turn on AC. I will do it earlier today, not wait for that 90 degrees inside.

I do hate having AC on, usually once it is turned on, it is on day and night for MONTHS, Very happy with forecasts for this week, cool nights and early mornings.

It's 73º here right now, MizT. This I like.
Unfortunately, my body is STILL overly hot, and I'm wringing wet with sweat. I was up most of the night trying to keep my supper from doing a "food escape". If I'm still having this problem by Monday, I'm calling my GP.

Hi everyone.

Enjoy the warmer weather MizT,and how is the sewing coming along?
We did 2 loads of palm fronds to the tip yesterday then ran out of time to take the third. Now it will have to wait until Sunday.
I have been watching a dawn service for ANZAC day,and it always makes me sad.The boys are marching sometime today with their school.
