Good evening all. Just stopping in for a quick hello. Have a some krow to do on the pooter. Will try to come back when krow is done.

Hi SA8 crew!! Just catching up!! Still having issues with the laptop. Since coming home from Florida, I can't wrap my head around krow at all!! I have no motivation!!! The problem is, I run my own business, so who do I blame???

By the way, the only swine flu problem areas I heard about here were Mexico, Texas, California. I didn't know it reached to you folks there, hopefully everyone stays safe. The news here says if you wash your hands frequently (common sense??) you should be fine. If you can't do that, carry something like Purell.

getting ready for bed, very tired, not been sleeping well...insomnia for the past 12 years on & off. Got 8 hours last night, don't know if I need more?????? Any suggestions??

I've been sleeping almost all day. Only up for short periods, and forgot to turn off the pooter. I wasn't awake long enough to call my GP today. I'll try tomorrow. Still feverish.

Stella, I'm glad you had an enjoyable weekend, but sorry to hear that your Mom was somewhat unsure. Was it for the whole day - or late afternoon/early evening? When my MIL was in rehab after breaking her hip, we were told she had "Sundowners" - Alzheimers type symptoms but concentrated in late afternoon/early evening, not all day.

Coffee break!

I've been trying to get my laundry organised again after the disruption this week. I've lost a fair bit of storage space, which isn't so bad as I also lost a lot of the stuff I was storing in there when the water heater leaked all over it!

Good morning all! One last day of hot temps, in the 80's, before it goes back to normal, in the 60's.

Julie, you may be right, it was later in the afternoon.

I decided to go down to Albany to see if I could see them filming the new Angelina Jolie movie "Salt." It's just one small action scene they are filming here since the way the ramps intersect looks like the ones in Washington DC. I saw the stunt double on top of the tractor trailer. It was extremely hot in the sun. I was overheated on the ground. The double must have been dying in the wig, winter hat and wool coat. I guess it is going to take them a week just to get this action scene that will only be scene for seconds during the movie. The news had pictures of Angelina shooting that scene on Sunday.

From Launceston Tasmania. First time I have been near the pooter since we left home. We are haveing a great holiday but only a few days left. Weather was very warm at the start but showers when we went up the Gordon River and snow while we were at Cradle Mountain. Missed seeing eaa by half an hour yesterday. She was going into "town" in the morning but had to leave about 10am. We were 200klms away and did not expect to get there till 11am or after. We actually got there at 10.30am but had no way to contact eaa to see if she was still in "town".

We have seen lots of trains and train tracks.Ken's passion. We have also seen some lovely scenery and animals etc.It is just so nice to be away from home. I am enjoying all the lovely meals and not having to cook. Tonight we are in an old home full of antiques. We have been to the Irish Pub for dinner. We fly home on Friday.

Suzie sems to have has a burst hot water so hope the damage was not too bad and glad the paper is posted.

GOOD Mean Sudokuland.

I had a scare this morning. Woke and as usual, went to turn on my puter. Puter would not wake up! Just sat there, no lights on the tower, no sound, no nuttin. I actually had to do ffuts to entertain myself till Al woke.

He did his magic, the computer came to life, and he said, do not turn it off. So if you see me online middle of the night, will only be the kitties. My puter shuts down the screen, and I seem offline, but if the mouse is moved, computer wakes up again. Kitties like the mouse, so they bop it around.

Good Morning Everyone!! Another crappy nite of sleep...Hubby worked OT last night, but the wind out here was blowing like crazy. Kept waking me up. Sorry to hear you still don't feel well Heidi, take care & get to the doctor, K???

SUZY, the new hot water system takes up more room? I have been wondering something about such a system, and have not yet found an answer. The panels are on the roof, they heat the water from sun energy. I am wondering if there is less heat gain to the house in areas under the panels. If the panels absorb the heat, transfer it to the water, seems like less heat to go to the house from the roof. Just wondering here.

Julie, I agree, read the last couple pages and start from there. If it is important we will mention it again. It is good to see you pop in for a few. Hope life is treating you nicely these days.

CynB, your "just busy, nothing special" sounds like life here. Somehow we get to the end of the day and try to figure out how so much time passed, but we can't really point to that many things that got accomplished.

June, thanks for popping in to let us know how you are! I'm so glad you were able to take some time for yourselves to relax and rejuvenate! It's also nice to eat good meals that you didn't have to prepare yourself!

Heidi, I hope you can get to the doctor today. Feel better!

MizT, I hope Al woke up not too long after you did!

The new system takes up more room than the old one because of the type of system we used to have. It only had a 50 litre tank. The best part of the new system is supposed to be our reduced electricity bills, but I think it will be not having to wait between showers, being able to have a real bath, and even being able to wash in hot water occasionally. We could have had the new tank put on the roof with the panels (actually more efficient) but our struts are 900 apart and wouldn't hold the weight. We tried to have it put outside, but the logistics of finding the right places to cut into the wall etc were daunting and there were problems with space in the roof cavity. The actual solar panels don't take up much space at all on the roof so I don't think they'd make much different to the amount of heat absorbed by the roof. At least I don't think so.
