What a day, Fellow Sudokuaholics!
Heidi, I'm also sending prayers for your MIL, Gil, and you. May she rest comfortably, whether she shows signs of improvement or not. Heidi, I hope you will soon feel better, and I hope the hired man will be able to help you with chores.
Thinking of sweet Lynda, her husband, the horses she cared for, and all those who loved her. RIP.
Nola, sending along Sudoku hugs for you and your family. It's so hard to know when is the right time. Remember the Rainbow Bridge. I hope you have a copy of that. If not, let us know, as several of us could email it to you.
Sending along positive and healthy thoughts to everyone! I need to head off to bed before I turn into a pumpkin. I hope to "see" everyone tomorrow.

Suzy, I need to thank you for leaving the TOPP wide open for me - and with 30 minutes for someone else to jump in.

WOW! This avatar was just approved in record time - within minutes of submitting it. I'm puzzled about the other avatar I submitted at the same time (also 50x50) for which I repeatedly received a comment that it was too big. Regardless, THANKS, Gath!

Julie.... it's not only the amount of pixels.... it's also the amount of KB. It must have been 3 KB or larger, even though it was 50 x 50 pixels.

Thank you so much for all the kind messages regarding my dog Meg...I brought her home and buried her in the garden next to the drive way where she first arrived at 8 weeks old.
You are all there to listen to peoples day to day ups and downs when we need a shoulder to cry on.It really does help to put it into words knowing that others listen and empathize.

Nola, thank you for your kind words. So sweet.
Will you be planting anything there as an everlasting reminder of Meg?
Would love to hear the story of how she came to live with you.

Evening all!
Just came home from a quilt show fundraiser for a primary school. Couldn't afford any of the prices they had on things!! Ally sang for about 50 minutes with the other girls. She had 3 songs that she was out front for. The first 2 had definitely sounded better. By the 3rd she had got her groove back and sounded more like herself. It was a good night.

Good morning all! Flying by this morning. Trying to get to Ian's school to see the May Crowning. He is doing a reading.
Emailed an amazing video yesterday, but I don't have everyone's email and when some couldn't open the attachment, I just found the video on youtube.(MizT, this is the original video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWpxveXK_K0

Did I say I had doc appointment yesterday? Just a routine follow up visit. We talked about pain levels, and he is working on it with me. We are increasing my meds, but slowly cause this one makes me sleepy. He gave me a really generous supply of pain pills, plus some stronger ones for when storms come through. Nice doc, he trusts me not to take too much. Also injected the thumb that has been such a bother, OUCH. I can tell it really needed it by how much the injection hurt, but worth it this morning (would not have said so last night
). It is soo much better. Maybe I can stop complaining here so much now

Thinking of Lynda and Peter and her horses today, a sad anniversary. ROP Lynda.
Nola, so sad about your Meg, I am glad you found a place suitable and close for her burial. Remember burying Al's really old cat Precious, many years ago, in a quite spot under the forsythia and crepe myrtles where she liked to nap. So thoughts and good wishes for all your family who is missing her.

MizT, I think I like your doctor. I think about you pain levels every time you mention bad weather. Or anytime anyone else does. I hope the meds help.
Suzanne, I wish I had. Couldn't unwind. So much going to happen in the near future and I couldn't help thinking about it. But if I can finally graduate it will be worth every single agonising moment....
I'm off to bed, night all!

Stella.... Wonderful story!!!
Good news from Gil. His mother isn't quite as bad as we were told. She could still have a few months, and remain comfortable. Or she could quietly pass away in the next few days. Her heart is steadily enlarging, and she has to be on oxygen full time, but she's lucid. Gil is very glad he's with her to spend some quality time talking. The entire family (except me) is there.

I did have something unpleasant happen last night. I was feeding the dogs, and am still training Lady to go in a crate to eat. I was reaching for her collar to encourage her in, and she decided she didn't want to go in. She lashed out and bit me.... a deep puncture in the fleshy area below the thumb and index finger, and a bunch of shallower punctures and bruises. It took a long time to stop the bleeding, and the right hand is now badly swollen, and quite painful.

Heidi: Glad to hear your MIL is doing ok...will still pray for her. Can't believe your dog bit you!!! My shepherd mix (also named Heidi) never punctured skin, but when we first got her, she did nip me. We got a dog trainer to help with her when we first got her...no more nips...She does still have some trust issues. Doesn't like the sound of diesel trucks or Hispanic people...Hope your hand gets better....poor thing!! What a rough week or so for you! Hang in there!

Lady is a very recent rescue. She's not completely at home here, and probably misses her owner something fierce. Her owner was handicapped, and being a collie, Lady must have been pretty protective of her. Being sent off to a foster home with 16 other collies must be super stressful for her. And she's no youngster, either. She's 11 years old. So I do understand a little about the bite.

Nap time here too Heidi. good to see you posting a bit more, at least you were able to stay awake part of the day today. Get well soon, and sorry about the bite. Did Lady act like she knew she had done something wrong? My cats will do that, hiss or swat at one of us, then get that OOOPS, I really did not mean to do that look

Julie, saw that you had trouble getting an avatar approved. I have yet to figure out how to submit a photo for a puzzle. Each time it says it's too big or too small. I can't can't the size and the pixels to coordinate so that the photo still looks like a photo. I must be doing something wrong.
