That's exactly what it was like Brenda, for me at least. I cannot even begin to imagine what it is like for him, alone there all the time.

At least he seems to be getting out doing things he enjoys. It will take time for him to get into doing things just for him after being part of a happy couple for so long.

I have to go soon as taking my son into town to take his theory test for his driving.
He is terribly nervous about it, so fingers crossed that he passes.

Good morning all! Another dark and dreary day. It snowed most of yesterday, but no real accumulation. Still can't see the ground yet. It needs to warm up above freezing for a few days before that will happen.

Woke up to 59 F weather. Unfortunately, this Spring-like weather won't last much longer. We're going back to freezing temps tomorrow.

Since I gather that you all love cleaning as much as I do, I thought I'd pass on a little tip. My all time favourite cleaning job is the shower recess. Ugh! We switched from soap to shower gel weeks ago, hey presto, no more white soap scum. Much easier now! It's the talc in soap that does it. Everyone has their own colour of whatever you call that net thingy to scrub yourself with, plus spare white ones for visitors.

Susan, my daughter calls those net bath scrubbies Shower Flowers. I thought it was a good name.

I bought myself an automatic tub/shower cleaner. It auto sprays a cleaning liquid when I press the button. Keeps my tub/shower really clean. I have to wash the faucet and handles occasionally, but I have not cleaned my shower walls or tub in over a year!

Forgot to say GOOD MORNING Sudokuland! it is a fine morning here today. sunny skies again, birds are singing their spring songs, lovely. Current temp is 58 (14 C) at 8:30 am, headed for a forecast high of 81 (21 C). I could get accustomed to this! Temps will moderate some later in the week, but no freezing temps, even overnight forecast for us. I cannot believe you are that much colder than here, Heidi.

Wish we could get those automatic shower cleaners MizT. I must remember that next week I have to do the regualar pipe clean on the new bath tub. It takes at least three hours to do. Fortunately a lot of that time is just waiting while the solution cleans and sterilises the jets and their pipes.

Heidi, hope that your doc can see you today and prescribe something for the rash. If it is shingles, there are some meds now that help the pain and help dry it. Let us know what you find out, please.

Brenda, congrats on son passing his driving test. What is next for him? I have learned about Aussie laws for getting drivers license, how goes it there?

HI BEAN, good to see you pop in for a bit here.

Stella, still with snow? Oh My, now I know why I put up with our hot and humid summer weather. I could not stand snow for so long, it is pretty for about one or 2 days, then I am finished with it for a couple more years hehehe. Hope it warms, and your snow melts soon.

Gail, thanks for the report on your trip. I know it was a tough job. Some of my Mom's things were at my sisters house (Mom lived there for 3 years fore going into care) so at Thanksgiving when we were all there, she and her hubby put everything out in the guest bedroom, and all of us got to choose things we would like or could wear. I was surprised so many of the grandaughters wore same shoe size as Mom.

Brenda, I wonder if you could order a shower cleaner online somewhere? They are not expensive, I think about $25, shipping would probably be more than that! If you could get the cleaning solution there, the "machine" part alone would be cheaper to ship.

MizT... it's 59 NOW... high of 76 expected today. I'm not that much colder than you.

My day keeps getting better. My truck is dead. Won't start. Won't even try. I had to reschedule my appointment this morning. So no doctors visits.
The tractor mechanic is here now. SOMETHING broke in the big tractor.... a stream of fluid came out of the front end..... but he's baffled as to where it came from. It's somewhere in the power steering, but he can't fix it until he finds where in the power steering.

Not a great day Heidi, sorry both your truck and tractor are broken. Is Gil gone in his truck?

I thought you said it was going back to freezing later this week, and we are not. That is why I remarked about you being so much colder. Your forecast is colder hehehe. I should learn to say what I am thinking, but my brain is not in gear yet.

Just checking cyclone Hamish. Boy, he should be named Slugish! he is just sitting in same spot, it seems, and whirling rain about. THAT can be bad for whomever is receiving all the rain, flash flooding.

Hope all our friends are safe from the winds and rain.

Have had a look at the shower cleaner. We have a similar sort of cleaner here but it is a hand held trigger bottle which you are supposed to spray on the walls etc. after you have had a shower. People just forget to do it.

Brenda, yes, I used the hand held bottle some of the time before they made the auto one. Like you said, we forgot to do it, or it was just too much trouble this time, or took too much time. It worked when we used it, so I knew the chemicals did their job. The auto system does it's job too, it is easy, fast, so I remember it more often.

Answering your question about driving tests here in the uk.
You can get a provisional license to drive a car when you are 17. You can only go out on the road with someone who is over 21 and has been passed their test for three years or more.
The first step in the driving test is the Theory and hazard perception tests (which is what Andrew has just done) these are tests done at a test centre on a computer. Theory test is 50 questions with multiple choice answers. You have to have 43 correct to pass. The hazard perception you have to score at least 44 out of a possible 75. You take these tests on the same day and have to pass both at the same time to get your pass certificate. After that you book for the practical tests. This is a driving test of about 30 minutes, in which you have to complete satisfactorily many maneuvers (SP) then you have to be able to answer questions about the car, such as how and where to top up fluids. where is the fan belts. Only after passing these parts of the test do you get your full driving license. Then you are free to drive where ever you want. In the first year you have to be careful not to get points on your license as you could be made to take the tests again

Your rash does sound a lot like shingles, I hope you can get to the Drs. and that he/she can give you something to sooth the rash
