I'm going to leave the earth moving stuff alone because I'm a laaady

Viv, if you feel like doing a bit more gardening, mine is looking a little sad right now...

I'm off to scrub Ally's arm some more

Suzy - Mum's cousin - I think she married the lad and had more kids but eventually they divorced. I never met her until about 15 years ago, by then she was a grandmother and a lovely lady but I suspect she had a hard life.
Even in the late 60's, my sister got pregnant to her boyfriend - Mum had a complete fit but accepted it. Turns out she was worried what other people had to say! Now she has 15 great-grandies, 4 born out of wedlock and didn't turn a hair. It was as much of a scandal when my first husband and I separated - never happened before in our family. Half of my cousins subsequently got divorced - and my sister, and my niece. Times have changed - not always for the better though.

Suzy - Ally might like to wait until the weekend and get some sun on that arm. After a while she'll forget about it and just not worry.

It's dark and hubby is not home - I'm not used to this - hasn't happened since we sold the truck. After he freed my car he went to do a 3 hour job that he's now 5.5 hours into and will have to finish tomorrow.

Cyn reading about your mum's cousin reminded me of my first MIL. One of her grandsons was doing his family tree and kept writing asking Mary questions about her family, she would never reply to these letters. It wasn't until after her funeral that we found out why. She had had a baby daughter before she was married. One of her aunts took care of the child. When she married my FIL he accepted the child and was willing to bring it up as his, but the woman who had looked after her kept making a nuisance of herself by visiting and poking her nose into their affairs, because she missed the child. MIL & FIL decided that they would let the woman have the child back. My first husband never knew anything about this sister. One of his older cousins told him about it after her funeral. MIL would have been 109 now so this happened about 90 years ago. MIL was very lucky not to have been ostracised from her family.

Suzy, pleased to hear that Ally's arm is looking ok. She will soon get back to normal with the arm. Does she need PT to get the hand working properly again or is it something that will come back naturally with every day movements?

Gloomy looking day here. Bryana wants to take her permit test. Can't believe she's old enough to drive. Then have to pick up Ian because he has to have a cat scan on his foot. Brought him to the ortho yesterday and now he has to see another specialist. When he finished his 6 week stint on crutches, I thought it was all better. I found out last week that he hasn't been able to bend his big toe. The xrays show no fracture or dislocation, so hence the cat scan. Spring track just started on Monday. He doesn't seem to get a break. Hopefully, it won't be anything too serious and it can be fixed without surgery.

Her car was stuck in mud so her wheels were just spinning, never realised how hard Bogged was to explain.

At the moment I have Callie sleeping on my lap as we have just been out for a gentle stroll around the green.

Tuesday nights have three of our fav TV shows in a row, from 7 pm till 10 pm. At most every break, the local weather man kept saying stay tuned for weather and reports of the earthquake, at the late news. Well, I did not hear it on the news, must have left the room before they got around to it, but I think we had a small little shaking of the earth again last night.

Don't you hate when they spend waaaay more time telling you what they are going to tell you, than telling you once the news airs?

More clothes to hsaw today. another good day for hanging them outside. It is sunny and warm and a slight breeze. Temp is 56 (13C) with a forecast high of 74 (24 C)My kind of weather today.

Broni, excellent definition of bogged.

Stella, I think Viv probably did get her car splashed, from spinning wheels trying to get out of the mud. I hope all is easily repaired with Ian's foot. sometimes boys just will not let on something is wrong.

Gail, you should warn me fore something as funny as your back to back comment hehehe. I almost spewed coffee onto my monitor.

Suzy, and you think Ladies never feel the earth move? would be no more young ladies if that were so

Gail.... I know what you went through. I used to live in Costa Rica, and we regularly had large tremors which knocked pictures off the walls and sent buildings swaying. You get used to it after a while.

I will know tonight if I get Bonnie back. I had problems sleeping last night, I was so nervous over it.

Now for brekkie and reading the comments on this page.

Morning all!
MizT, laidies feel the earth move, they just don't talk about it... well, much
Stella, so far the doc thinks swimming will be enough. Oh, and a stress ball. For the first few hours we were home it felt like she was never going to move her hand again, but by bed time it was almost horizontal. I will keep an eye on it....

Sorry! That was Brenda!

MizT, I 'love' those teaser news reports which say food recalled/new studies, lives at risk - and you could be eating it now - more at 10!

Stella, I've got the same thing going with Ebob - 16 and ready for learner's permit. Luckily she's got other stuff on her mind right now.

I hope the news is good about Ian's foot - please let us know.

Hubby will surely be pleased. I have another version of bread in the oven, plus an apple crisp for tonight's desert. Getting some of my food flung early today.

Morning Suzy, good to hear that the hand is coming back in line with her arm. Now to get the strength back again. Exercise exercise. After I broke my ankle, I had to "write" in the air with my toes. That really strengthened my ankle and took it through all the range of motion.

Heidi, do you think Stella's brain was a bit bogged, the reason she did not understand the usage of the word?

Suzy, Southern Belles also felt the earth move and did not talk about it in polite (mixed) company, but amongst cousins, sisters and best friends, anything goes!

My brain is a bit bogged recently. I am having a problem typing words with ie . I know how to spell words with ie, even the exceptions like weigh and neigh, but they all come out of my fingers ei, even when I am thinking or even saying out loud i e . something in the brain wiring is tangled. You do not want to know the times I have to correct the word 'their', almost every time! Oh well, before the ie tangle it was another word I could never get typed correctly, forget which one now, so this too shall pass.

My house is smelling yummy, I should go and check the oven. I think it is time for the timer to go off. Catch you later, friends.

Good morning everyone.
Another cloudy day here.
I can relate to Ally being self conscious after the plaster came off.I had a knee op at 15yrs old, plaster from thigh to ankle and when the cast was removed, the hair on that leg was long and dark and I had to walk thru outpatients. It was soooo long you could have plaited it.hehe

Morning rush is about to start but wanted to say something first. Anyone surprised?

MizT, I often have a problem with letters reversing when one is typed with my right hand and the other my left. It's like one hand is moving slower than my brain... I blame carpel tunnel - better that than blaming my brain!

Nola, hehe, I had a similar feeling when they shaved a large part of my head without warning me in advance. I walked from ICU to a shower (they don't have them in ICU, wonder why?) and people had the most horrified looks on their faces. It didn't make sense until I actually got into the bathroom and saw myself in a mirror! I did NOT want to come out again!!!!

The doctor was both a chauvinist and practical (why should you care about your hair when I've done such a fabulous job on your jaw) and the nurses probably assumed he'd told me... The bald patches were bad enough (fluorescent white!), but there were vivid red lines of stitches running down the middle of them. It was like something out of a horror movie!

Thank goodness for hats and wigs.As if the stress of the accident wasn't enough for you.

I also found it hard to let go of the kids when they got their drivers license. If they were a bit late getting home, the mind would go thru all different possibilities of why.
Thats another reason why being a Grandie is much nicer.
