I have gnihsaw in the machine, the floors need that sucky thing going over it but I still find time to come on here
those things can always be done at another time. Whereas my friends I need to keep up with what is happening.
I have noticed that since getting Indi the sucky thing needs to be pushed more often.
Son has both dogs out for a walk right now so I have an empty house.
British summer time (daylight saving) started this weekend so the evenings will be lighter later now. Having said BST has started we had frosts overnight.

We've had almost summer weather since summer ended. The seasons are a bit messed up.

Viv how are the orders going on your Avon?
I know when you started you were selling lots but that was just before Xmas, has the sales kept to a similar level for you to be making a bit of money out of it.
Years ago my husbands step daughter wanted to start selling Avon, but there was already someone selling in our area so she didn't do very well (I actually lost money on it as I was the one paying for books etc)

Viv - haven't able to watch much of 'Underbelly' but I heard a scene-spoiler on the radio today. Did Matthew Newton's character really kill his girlfriend in tonight's episode??

June, that's really scary! Can't imagine what kind of person would be bold enough to enter an occupied house! Hope Sharon is feeling better. She certainly could use a break. Your trip to Tasmania will be a lovely getaway for you.
Cyn, Happy 90th Birthday to both of your Aunts. Hope they had wonderful days!

MizT, glad you made it through the storms. You must have sent them up here! I didn't realize that Al smoked. I can't imagine being addicted to anything that much. Driving 2 1/2 hours in hazardous conditions for a pack of cigs is a strong addiction. Sounds like it might be time to kick it.
Judy, is "Lost" up to the same season and episodes there as it is here?

Suzy, congrats to Ebob for the Coach's Award! Great job! Was that a real science question? What's the point of it?
Tami, have fun with your friend!

Cyn, hope Colin's ribs are feeling better as well as your dog's back.
Brenda, glad Indi is much easier going than you thought he would be. Sounds like Callie is trying to maintain control as the pack leader. I watched that dog whisperer show (do you get that show) over the weekend. The guy was amazing with the dogs. The people on the show were all from Cirque de Soleil in Vegas and had various problems with their dogs(a swimming dog that wouldn't swim, a dog that wouldn't walk and a dog that wouldn't stop barking and went crazy when people visited). He solved all of their problems!

Good Maen Sudokuland!
I am upset with our weather forecasters. Temps were to be 38-42 overnight. No mention of frost. I did not cover my new plants. We had frost. I did not get up before sunrise to check them. I should have covered them last night. That will teach me to listen to forecast! Will the flowers survive? Stay tuned for updates

It is time for mowing again. I hope Al can check our mower and get it started, first time of the season. He will have the string trimmer, weedeater, I forget the Aussie word for it. We have a large area that cannot be cut with our mower, that he has to get. I will ride my pretty red mower.

STELLA, Al was not buying one pack, he still had a couple packs on hand. He was buying 3 cartons, before the price increase, of $10 a carton. A new cigarette tax went into effect over weekend.
Brenda, I need to put clothes in that sloshy thing too, we have sunshine today!
JUNE, so very scary. Was your backpack left near the door? Easy grab and go? I often hang my purse on back of chair just a step inside the back door. I have thought how easy for someone to reach in and grab. I now TRY to put it out of sight in bedroom, but old habits are hard to break.
More that needs comments, but it is time to make breakfast, so hope all is well or improving for each of you. Hugs all around and extras for the taking.

June... how scary. It could have been so much worse, with someone in your home while you were there. Good police, catching the low-life. You'll have your ID and cars back, so that hassle isn't there. The camera is only a thing. If you don't get it back, it's replaceable. The worst part is the feeling of invasion.

Now that I have read the comments on this page.........
MizT... I leave my purse in my unlocked truck all the time. I don't even bring it in the house. But I'm out in the country, and I have a large number of big dogs who go nuts if anybody even comes up the driveway. I also have a wireless driveway alert.... if anyone crosses the electric eye, a buzzer goes off in the house. Because of hot fences (with 6,000 volts going through 'em), the driveway is the only way to approach the house.

SA8! I'm just getting caught up on reading.
June and Ken, I'm aghast that someone was pilfering in your home as you watched TV. Thank goodness you didn't discover the intruder and get injured! I hope all of your belongings are returned, especially the camera! I hope Sharon is feeling better today! How clever of you to find a place to powder coat the aluminum outdoor furniture!
Broni, I'm so glad you finished all the ffuts you had planned to do for the day! (I wish I could say the same, but then we were hit by 3 to 4 inches of "spring" snow, which required removal from drive and walks.)
Suzy and Brenda, good luck with car repairs. I hope they don't put too big of a "dent" in your wallets!
CynB, I hope both of your patients are improving! I see that Col received results of X-rays. Glad to hear there are no broken bones. Still needs to be careful for proper healing. Keeping fingers crossed that the quotes for new jobs are accepted.
VViv, I hope you got the Avon orders sorted out - and maybe even delivered.
CRAFT's has now struck, so will read some more and comment later.

June,I'm glad you didn't know intruders were in the house until after they had gone. That would be really scary and maybe dangerous.Hope you get your stuff back.
Rolander,is your son staying in your area when he moves out or going some distance away?

Heidi, Between Lucky digging them up and the frost, the coleus did not have a chance! Coleus are very tender annuals.
Did you know if you wash the frost off the flowers before the sun hits them, they do not get frost damage? That "cooked vegetables" look they get after a frost is because they did cook! The ice in the frost absorbs and magnifies the sun rays and cooks the plants. I have saved many a plant from damage by spraying early morning before sun hits them.
Now, this is not a cure for freezing, when the temps get below 32 and stay there for over 4 hours. but a light frost, especially if temps at or above freezing, it is good medicine!
OK, your gardening tip for today and you probably already knew it.

Morning all!
So much news overnight, I love it!
MizT, I did not know that about frost - we don't get very much of it here.
Stella, the science question was from a news article about concerns that the science curriculum in the UK is being 'dumbed down'. It's apparently from a 2006 science paper. Brenda wrote about different levels of science for students with different aptitudes or interests.

Stella, I'm glad you wrote 'coach's'. I thought I was going mad. I even went and checked the trophy before I posted. I don't know if the person who decided what to call it didn't know how to spell or if they meant more than one coach...

I. Am. Tired. I just sorted the bull out of the herd and put him in the barn. Then sorted the heifers and 2 steers.... the keepers got moved in with the cow herd, and the 2 steers and 3 heifers for sale got weighed. Then I moved the bull (via trailer) in with the last group. They're all going on feed to fatten up... the youngsters for meat, and the bull to get ready for breeding season on May 1st.

He is in with 3 heifers right now. They're due to go to the processor in a couple of weeks, so it doesn't matter if he has his way with them in the meantime. One steer is for our freezer, and won't be butchered until fall, so they'll be together until May 1st.
