Heidi,it is just the opposite order. The folage comes up in mid spring then it dies back. Each bulb is a single flower. In Oklahoma the flower blooms in late summer. When they bloom there is no folage, which gives them their name. They are very striking either single flowers or in groups. They are of the Amarillis family.

I can tell you have as much fun collecting smilies as I do. I spent the afternoon digging out from the snow storm last night. You know what I thought of while I was shoveling? You! Really, I did. I thought, "at least I don't have to try and drag food to critters through this".
