You really are a sweetie. She sure was a special lady. I like to think that I am a little like my mother, she was a lovely woman, although she never really minced her words. She told it like it was, but when you needed it, she was the best for loving and hugs. I will always hold her dearly in my heart.

Hi Heidi - I know I’m late doing this but just calling in to thank you for the wonderful birthday greetings. I did indeed have a lovely day, made better by being able to spend it with the whole family. I feel happier than I have in years and I thank you and all my other Sudoku friends for your friendship and support. I love this site.

I am glad you are finally able to view this, Heidi, because that means that some things in your life have gotten back to normal after this terrible ice storm.

Ice is so terrible because it just doesn't go anywhere. The three hurricanes that have struck my home, each left after less than a day. All the lights came on in another 60 hours and all was kinda normal- at least normal in the way things first feel when all the power, phone, internet, and everything else that connects us to 21st century America are returned to us. But ice lingers on and on, till finally a few days in the 40s come and melt it. And only then do you really see just how much it tore up.

Best wishes on a quick clean up, and I hope the damages don't cost too much to fix. Most importantly, I hope the new animals you get to replace the ones the storm killed are able to help you get through these next months.

Heidi - I know what a 3 dog night is - how many dog night have your's been lately? I hope that made you smile. Know that many are praying for you and your neighbors. Keep the faith girl and remember Generators are not to be inside the house - careful of the downed wires - in case they turn the power on, before the wires are righted.

Heidi, I feel terrible. I have been so consumed by my own problems with flooding that I've only just heard about your difficulties. Ice storms are totally alien to me, but I know what problems power supply failure brings. I hope that things return to normal as soon as possible and that your losses are minimised.

Hey girlfriend, how ya doing? Was very worried about you during that last ice storm. You can't have any bad happen to you, not since I'd like to bring my grandson to visit your farm! One of these days I'd like to drive up to Kentucky and see you! You've posted so much about your farm. The critters alone would be fun to visit (I include you amongst the critters!)

Move over, sistah! I have for years prepared for the worse (ex: when we go to field trip, I'm the one who brings prepared barf bags - lunch sack with a plastic bag inside. I have never had to use them but my friend who never brought them has had two kids vomit in the bus!) It's mainly a superstitious thing with me. If I prepare for the worse, it won't happen!
