Peter and I are Downsizing to a Smaller House.
We sold the Family Home last year and moved into Chateau Rental last October, while the New House is being built.

I see that you have already made the 'tour downunder' and also caught up with quite a few 'sudoku friends' from time to time. Hi Vici - it's been a long time since I've visited your page, hope all goes well with you and yours. We are fine here - my b&w Jasper now has a sister, another b&w dog, a lab/pit bull mix named Bonnie, and they get along beautifully. I am so glad I had my knee replacement two years ago as now it is over 90 pounds of dog-dom on the leashes when we walk! Happy Whiskers was so pleased when I took her - she is another abused being who has a good heart. Her foster mother said she has a high prey drive, but she is good with Abby, my last surviving cat who runs things around here.
Anyway, couldn't remember when I last updated you on shelter dog acquisitions! Hope to get a photo of the kids on my page one day soon.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Mrs S and I have been away for a fortnight in the sun on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. We try and do that each year to get a break from the Tasmanian winter which actually hasn’t been too bad this year.
The weather was wonderful with no rain and maximums of about 25C (78F) each day. We also visited friends and generally had a great time.
Sorry, I did not respond earlier but I did not get any alerts that I had received messages but I really appreciate your message.

I only have time to glance at the puzzles in the morning and then read comments and attempt to solve them late at night this year. I generally am too late and too tired to comment myself, but I do notice what you say. Thanks, too, for the compliment on my photography. I just like to share the beauty around me with others. You asked about the photo on today's Easy - no bagpipers when we were there, but I'm sure they probably have them at times! Pipers is the name of the place, it's a restaurant on the edge of Lake Wendouree in a Victorian town called Ballarat. Although it was a lot further from the lake than it should be due to drought (2009) - should be back to normal levels now! We had a coffee there before we headed off to Bendigo on our way home from the Great Ocean Road trip!!

Hello Vici, back from funerals (last week) & guests on the river this weekend & am catching up on the jigsaws etc. Just found a booboo of mine, hard jigsaw Sat'24th Nov!
It is most definitely a Welcome Swallow, Hirundinidae, Small insect-eating birds! I must have hit upload before I'd cut & pasted the new label!! Sorry about that! The photo was taken up-the-river. They love sitting on jetty poles, & don't nest on verandahs etc, because there are lots of old sheds & boatsheds around!! There are lots around at the moment.

Thanks Vici for strolling through my garden. Its always nice to have visitors. I'm lucky to have so many willing subjects to pose for me. There are still few elusive ones that are on my list to snap. I just need patience! It's so hot and dry here at the moment that the birds are a bit quiet and the garden is suffering. Rain must come soon!

I'm so sorry that Rosie your adopted kitty passed away. This is the most difficult part of having an animal companion. Knowing how compassionate you are with animals, I'm sure she had a wonderful life with you. As, I too ,have experienced this several times I know how difficult it is. One helpful thing though, you have all the good memories to help you through this.I'm sure there are many of them.
